Americans who can afford it, including federal employees and retirees, must now have health care coverage called "minimum essential coverage." FEHB plans count as minimum essential coverage.
Beginning in 2016, employees and retirees with Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) coverage will receive IRS Form 1095-B. This form will help you report your coverage when you file your tax return.
