ARE YOU AN APWU BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEE?

All Postal Service employees can enroll

All Postal employees and retirees who are eligible to enroll in the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) program may become members of an APWU Health Plan.
  • All active Postal Service APWU bargaining unit employees must be dues-paying members of the APWU, except where exempt by law. Active and retired Postal Service employees' membership dues vary by APWU local.
  • Postal Service employees in non-APWU bargaining units (i.e. letter carriers, mail handlers, rural carriers) may enroll by becoming an Associate Member of the union. You will pay only a $35 per year Associate Member fee, which is billed after you enroll in the plan.
  • Postal Service retirees may also enroll in an APWU Health Plan.
  • As part of the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement, the APWU has negotiated for Postal Support Employees (PSE) to have access to the FEHB Program. Once the PSE completes their 360-day initial appointment, they will be able to enroll in the APWU Health Plan’s Consumer Driven Option and the United States Postal Service pays 75% of the premium. With other plans, you would be responsible for paying 100% of the premium.
