As a member of the APWU Health Plan Consumer Driven Option, you have access to designated Cancer Centers of Excellence around the country. If you decide to use a designated Cancer Center of Excellence, you may receive prior approval for travel and lodging costs. With pre-approval and in the network, you pay 10% of the Plan allowance.
To locate a Cancer Center of Excellence, contact UnitedHealthcare at 1-800-718-1299 and enroll in the program prior to obtaining covered services. The Plan will only pay the higher level of benefits if UnitedHealthcare provides the proper notification to the designated facility/provider performing the services.
